The depressing direction music is headed.
Going through my submission emails, like a good blog does, I am generally pretty satisfied with the songs being submitted and think they can relate to a popular taste. Recently I was going through and came across this: “fresh fire that needs to be seen”. Making an erroneous assumption I instantly queued up the video. After hearing “I be doin it” for the three hundredth time after a good 45 seconds of the song I found myself laughing in disbelief. Not sure if my laughter derived from the fact that these kids decided to make this song and video, or the fact that it was seriously submitted to me as being “fire”. As the video progresses and we are repetitively reminded how much this kid is killing it, as well as some sprinkled in iMovie effects of reverse and slow motion. Lets not forget the plot line, or what was of it. We have these no older than 16 year olds in some swimming pool drinking out of solo cups (duh) with two “lead girls” who are resting their heads on the scrawny shoulders of the lead “rapper” who can barely grow facial hair. The video progresses to a restaurant, where a girl (also looks 16) is serving them ketchup, which the two boys decided to smack each other with. After that little fun altercation takes place, the two boys get up and run away from the restaurant, my take is they were ashamed of their gayness, but the waitress looked equally delighted to see them leave. After witnessing these “bros” dine and dash, I did for a second think they must be killing it. Besides the video, you get the great name of “Foreplay Music” which i’m assuming relates to their adolescent experience to a heterosexual sexual encounter. Which seems the most likely answer since you nicely state “everybody getting laid… but not me” Or my second bet is that they are poking fun at exactly what this post was originally about.
Now I didnt want to spend this time shitting on this video, although there is so much to say I felt overwhelmed with things I should point out. But the real point behind this post is the decreasing skill and ability to make decent music. Having the great fortune of being born in the 90s I have personally been able to watch the style and taste of music evolve from the classics of Billy Joel, to the womping of Skrillex. Both having separated into their distinctive genres, if asked I would not be able to place “music” such as “Foreplay Music” on that very ranged spectrum of genres. I feel disappointed with this generation, there is no one to blame, but the fact that this 16 year old can make a beat using Garageband, pick up a camera and use some nifty iMovie effects and call himself a rapper utterly disgusts me. Some might call it an amazing opportunity, and it is hard to argue with that when there are success stories through youtube such as Justin Bieber himself (not saying Biebers music quite falls under my taste, but hey, kids got some game if he can fuck Selena Gomez). But my advice to you “Foreplay Music” is first wait a few years when you’ve started puberty and your voice drops a few decibels, think of a catchier hook than “doin it”. Also some music video advice, if you’r going to make a song accompanied with a video, please make them relate to one another. I stuggle to find anything in that video you are “doin” than getting slapped in the face with ketchup.

DJ Tuto – Euphoric [Album]
What a lot of music blogs do today is dismiss the smaller producers and artists. It seems as if there has been an emergence of new ones since the dance music revolution in 2011 but only the big names – the same names over and over again – are being recognized.
Today, I’d like to introduce a fresh and new producer to the scene. DJ Tuto, from Costa Rica, is a mashup/bootleg producer. Arguably, the most common form of production today is through mashups and bootlegs, hence, the reason these people are shunned from music blogs. DJ Tuto, however, brings his own sound to the game. His songs are not generic and as simple as some people are convinced mashups are. Most of his work is energy filled, consistent with vocals (they’re on key), and pure dance floor bangers. His album Euphoric is a compilation of six mashups and bootlegs. I admire his choice in songs and combining what everyone wants to hear into one piece.
Be sure to support him by downloading his work and sharing it with your friends.
Note: They’re all free downloads but they seemed to be labeled as “Buy” instead of “Download”. If you click “Buy”, it’ll bring you to the FREE DOWNLOAD page.

Krewella – Can’t Control Myself (Candyland Remix)
Candyland dropped this sick remix of Krewella’s Can’t Control Myself about two weeks ago. Overall, it’s a pretty sweet track, though, I’m not a huge fan of the first drop at about 1:00. Other than that, the vocals are solid, the beat is consistent, and the bass hits pretty hard. Candyland was nice enough to hook us up with a free download so don’t forget to get on it.

Here’s another personal favorite, Lil Jon’s Snap Your Fingers (Candyland’s OG Remix). It’s more of a chill/dubstep-esque track if you’re looking for something less like electro.

Ludoloza & Joanna Rays – Feel It (Patrick G Remix)
The Patrick G Remix of Ludoloza & Joanna Rays’ (pictured above) Feel It is dance fire. You don’t even see the drop coming. Bass-ically, the song starts with some acoustics and Joanna Rays voice but no electro hints whatsoever. Then, out of the blue, come these deep bass synths that start building up the song. At about the 1:30 mark, she says “Are you gonna feel it” and then the amazingness starts. Prepare yourself for this.
Yes, that’s right. Free download link and preview:

Wawa- Do it 2
Here’s a mad good song by Wawa. This is not new by any means, but it definitely deserves a play. The Austrailian music duo NERVO said this song influenced their whole music style.

Muse – Starlight (Simon Shout 2012 Re-Boot)
Simon Shout released this sweet re-make of Muse’s well-known song Starlight a few days ago. In his remix – dubbed the 2012 Re-Boot – he gave the song the true 2012 face-lift. Adding catchy synths, deep bass chords, and an essential electro beat, the song is definitely dance-worthy now. Luckily enough, Simon’s been nice enough to offer this gem as a freebie to his fans so be sure to listen and download!

Dada Life – The Rules of Dada [Album]
Four words: New. Dada. Is. Awesome.
Dada Life dropped their new album The Rules of Dada a few days ago and it’s straight electro bangers one after the next. The beauty of Dada Life is that their sound is unique compared to other producers and DJ’s. It’s a lot grittier and hits harder, hence, making for huge dance anthems. The album, comprised of a number of both new and old songs, is nothing short of amazing. My personal favorite, however, is Rolling Stone T-Shirt. The song – different from the others – features this catchy male vocal over a buzzy bass sound, building up to a massive drop.
Be sure to check out their album out below – no free downloads.
Show some love by buying their album on itunes.

Alexisonfire – To A Friend (Adventure Club Remix)
So right now I’m going through a bit of a dubstep – chillstep – phase but I’m sure it’ll blow over faster than a middle school relationship. Adventure Club dropped this gem 2 months ago…but nonetheless it’s still fire. They never cease to amaze me with their killer tracks but this one stood out because it seemed to be more of a downtempo piece of theirs. Be sure to check it out and the rest of their tracks as well.

Adele – Skyfall (Clark Kent & Oscar Daniel Remix)
Letthebeatsflow.com is back! To start off the new season of posting comes this downtempo – soft core dubstep – remix of Adele’s “Skyfall” by Clark Kent & Oscar Daniel. Not only am I excited to see the new movie – in theaters November 9th – but I’m also pumped to hear more from this duo. Their remix incorporates Adele’s amazing voice with melodic bass chords and a classic dubstep drum n’ kick. In the background you can hear the signature 007 music riff which seemingly rounds the song off. Even if you’re not a big dubstep fan, this is a must have downtempo/relaxed dubstep track.
